PDA Configuration

{{PDAType|Android=Y}} When the user presses the settings icon on the login screen or from the Job List menu, the device will request whether the settings should be set through a QR barcode scan or manual entry. If '''Barcode''' is pressed, users will be prompted to scan the provided ''CALIDUS'' ePOD Settings QR barcode. If '''Manual''' is pressed, the Configuration screen below is shown.

Here the user can change:
*Web Service (URL) - Point to the main server

*{{PDAType|Android=Y}} Style - The styling of the application (colours, layout, etc).
*{{PDAType|Android=Y}} Pending Interval - the amount of time between checks for pending data to be sent to the server.
*{{PDAType|Android=Y}} GPS-Tag Messages - Indicates whether messages sent back to the server are tagged with GPS co-ordinates.
*{{PDAType|Android=Y}} Alert Sound - The sound made on a critical alert.
*{{PDAType|Android=Y}} Vibration Alerts - Indicated whether critical alerts vibrate the device.
*{{PDAType|Android=Y}} Image Size - The size of the resulting image - select 'Native' to control image size through the Camera application.
*{{PDAType|Android=Y}} Image Compression - The compression applied to the resulting image - select 'Native' to control image compression through the Camera application.
*{{PDAType|Android=Y}} Debug Mode - if enabled, additional options will be shown to view and email errors.

If an update is required to the PDA Client, the user will be prompted at this time.

Once the update is complete the user will be returned to the login menu. At this point the user must exit the application, navigate to the ''My Documents'' folder and run the Installer application.

PDA Job Confirmation

This screen controls the confirmation that the job has been completed satisfactorily, and is used regardless of job type.

The process can be configured for:
* Customer Signature
* Driver (or Engineer) Signature
* Job Photo Capture (also referred to as Document Photo Capture)
* None of the above

Customer signatures:

The Signatory box defaults to the customer contact name (if present on the job) and also allows free text entry, which will be sent back to the main system if the customer contact is not the person planned for the job.

To clear the signature, click '''Clear'''.

For all job types, if configured, the PDA will also display Terms and Conditions, along with up to 3 optional check boxes for entry.

** ''Jobs'' - For Delivereies and If many jobs were actioned together, the list of the Job References.

** ''Services'' - service-level information (the serviceable items and the service ID)

If any of the items being collected or delivered are outside their issue life, the customer signature screen will pop up a warning as the screen is displayed, asking that the customer may need to check them.

The ''Items/Containers'' tab can also be used by the customer to Clause delivery jobs.

* If containers are accepted but the customer wishes to note that the delivery may be queried later, they can enter clause text against specific containers.
* Click the container in the grid, and a pop-up will be displayed, allowing the user to enter clause information. The information displayed is:
** ID
** Package Code and Description
** Weight
** Code 1/2/3 (Multi-use fields)
** Valid To Date and Time
** The job reference (or job references if this item was for multiple jobs) on which the container was collected or delivered.
* If any of the items have exceeded their issue life (Valid To Date and Time), the item will be automatically claused with text indicating the contents must be checked.
* When saved, the ''Container'' tab will be redisplayed, showing in the status that the container is claused.

You complete the entry of the signature by clicking {{PDAType|Android=Y|iOS=Y|Block='''Done'''}}. This will require a confirmation to continue.

Driver Signatures:

The Signatory will already be populated with your name rather than the customers. There is also no additional tab information, clausing or issue life confirmation on this screen. Otherwise, this screen operates the same as the Customer Signature screen.

Job Photo Capture:

The PDA can also be configured for Document Photo Capture. When configured for this, the PDA will start the Photo Capture dialogue after all signatures have been captured. If this is an optional process, you will be allowed to exit without taking a photo. You can take a photo of a physical document at this point (for example, a delivery docket) or a photo of the completed job, for example.

You will be able to view the captured image or re-take the photo.

Once completed, you will be returned to the Job Menu to pick up the next task.

{{PDAType|Android=Y|Text=Several things may then automatically trigger, depending on how the system is configured:
* If configured this way, and the next task is for the same location (for example, a planned collection after a planned delivery), this job will start automatically, and you will be directed to the [[PDA Job Details|Job Details]] screen.
* If configured this way, any items on cancelled jobs or undelivered items on completed jobs will be planned for return to the depot, through the creation of a new Depot Unloading task at the end of your load.
* If configured this way, and when all planned jobs at a location are complete, the application will ask whether you need an unplanned (ad hoc) collection at this location. If confirmed, one will be created for you and will be started. If this is created in error, you can cancel this job in the normal way. This function allows you to pick up any unplanned items at the depot (for example, empty boxes to return).
* If an Unplanned Ad Hoc Collection is created and completed in this way, a depot unloading job will be created for this job as well.
}}

The completed job will be transferred back to the system with all the details, signatures and photos.

If configured, the customer will receive an automatic email of the generated completion document (that is, the POD, POC or Service Report) in the format set up (PDF or HTML). Any other customer systems can also be updated at this time.

If no tasks are remaining on your current Load/Worklist, you will be prompted to enter any Load End Metrics (for example ODO readings) if configured. Regardless, the device will then request more work from the system - see section [[PDA New Loads]] for details.

PDA Exception

This screen is displayed if you are cancelling an entire job, or if you are confirming a short delivery or collection.

When cancelling a Job or whole container, you are asked to enter a reason for the cancellation or shortage. These reasons are configurable within the administrative system.

For Product Quantity Changes, this number starts at the amount on the job and can be reduced or increased.

The reason codes you are offered differ if you are confirming an entire job cancelled than if you are shorting a collection or delivery item.

PDA Delivery

{{Note}} Deliveries function in almost exactly the same way as collections.

If the job is a Delivery, you will be shown this screen. You will be initially presented with {{PDAType|Android=Y|iOS=Y}} a summary screen.

{{Note}} If this is a delivery of a job that was collected earlier in the load, the PDA will only prompt you to deliver the items that were collected. You will not be allowed to deliver a job that has not yet been collected.

{{PDAType|Android=Y|Text=If configured, deliveries at a depot will be displayed as Unloading tasks rather than Delivery tasks.}}

The screen can display a number of different tabs:
* ''Job Details'' - see below
* ''Container/Items'' - uniquely-identified deliverable items (if there are items to deliver). {{PDAType|Android=Y}}When containers (collection or delivery items) are used across multiple consolidated jobs, this information is displayed here slightly differently, showing the destination.
* ''Products'' - products that are require to be delivered, usually with a quantity (if there a products to deliver, and the system is configured to allow this).
* ''Ad Hoc'' - add uniquely-identified deliverable items (if the system is configured to allow this)
* ''Notes '' - any driver notes (if the system is configured to allow this)

==Job Details==

The ''Job Details'' tab has multiple sections:
* Contact information
* Address information - if supplied, both current delivery address and original collection address are shown.
* Job Instructions
* Some check-boxes for the driver to confirm:
** Has the delivery been checked?
** Is invoicing required?
* Additionally, this screen can display many other items to enter - this is customer-specific information configured by the admin staff. If configured, this information is displayed in a scrollable list for entry here.
* The tab may also display a '''Complete''' button, allowing the user to complete the job when all details are entered. This job only appears if:
** Ad Hoc items are enabled (see later)
** No items or products are required for delivery at all.

The jobs required for collection can be varied and can consist of:
* Item (Container) only
* Loose Product Only
* Items with products within that should be counted
* A mix of all the above

==Container Only Delivery==

From the ''Container/Items'' tab you can enter the Container in the text box or click '''Deliver''', which will mark the item as collected and remove it from the list.

You can (if allowed) select the item from the list and click either '''Non-Delivery''' or '''Delivered''':
* '''Delivered''' will simply mark the item as collected and remove it from the list.

==Containers and Products Delivery==

From the ''Container/Items'' tab you can enter the Container in the text box and click '''Deliver''', which will progress you to the ''Products'' tab with all products within the selected container will shown. These can then be counted like Loose Products below. You may use any device-connected scanner in this text box to the same effect.

You may also use the '''Scan''' button to start the camera scanning facility built into ''CALIDUS'' ePOD. This will allow you to use the camera to scan any barcodes. This can be singly, or scanning batches or barcodes at a time, depending on configuration. The result of scanning barcodes is the same as entering them through the text box.

You can (if allowed) select the item from the list and click either '''Non-Delivery''' or '''Delivered''':
* '''Delivered''' will progress you to the ''Products'' tab with all products within the selected container will shown. These can then be counted like Loose Products below.

You are able to long-press any container in the grid. This will provide a pop-up menu, allowing you to see the either the details of the selected container, or a list of the contained products.
Choosing {{PDAType|Android=Y}} ''Info'', the PDA displays a screen showing:
* ID
* Package Code and Description
* Weight
* Code 1/2/3 (Multi-use fields)
The pop-up screen will also display the jobs the item is used on, if the item is consolidated across multiple jobs.

The pop-up menu also allows cancellation or delivery, as described above.

==Products or Loose Products Delivery==

From the ''Products'' tab, the PDA displays a grid of all the products in the container, or all the loose products. {{Note}} This option is only available if the container has products and the PDA is configured not to require you to confirm each product separately (i.e. Container-only Delivery).

{{PDAType|Android=Y|iOS=Y}} If there are a mix of containers and Loose Products, ''Loose Products'' will be shown as a special container on the ''Container/Items'' tab. If not, the ''Containers/Items'' tab will not be displayed at all, showing the ''Products'' tab only.

Similarly to the ''Container/Items'' tab, the ''Products'' tab gives you the ability to deliver a product in full or amend the quantity collected, by:
* Keying the product code in the provided text box and clicking ''Deliver'''
* Scanning the product barcode in this text box
* Using the '''Scan''' button to use the Camera Scanning facility built into the application
* Selecting the product from the list (if allowed)

In any case, the device will prompt you to decide on your action through a pop-up list allowing you to:
* Change the quantity delivered
* Deliver the product in full
* Cancel the product
* See further details of a product can be viewed by long-pressing against a line of the grid and choosing ''Details''. The PDA will display:
** The Product Code
** The Description
** The Item Type
** Any Customer Reference associated to this product
** The planned quantity

==Ad Hoc Item Delivery==

{{PDAType|Android=Y|Text=The Delivery process can also be configured with an Ad Hoc Delivery facility, which allows you to specify additional items delivered, at the point of delivery, without the specific items for those deliveries being planned in advance. This appears as a separate tab on the PDA within the Delivery process, labelled as "Ad Hoc" when this feature is enabled.

{{Note}} This is bespoke functionality and is typically only used when using the ''CALIDUS'' ePOD application and device to record delivery made by 3rd-party couriers.

The layout and operation of this tab is almost identical to the existing ''Items (Containers)'' tab.

The tab will allow items to be entered in exactly the same way as the ''Items (Containers)'' tab:
* Through a "Scan Container" text box and '''Deliver''' button.
* Through the use of the built in Camera Scanner feature, through the '''Scan''' button.

This list of items on the screen will start empty - as items are scanned, these will be added to the table.

When adding Ad Hoc items, the application will validate these items entered, and warn you if they have already been scanned, were preadvised, or that they have already been cancelled.

If DU/Asset type entry is required, or the jobs are consolidated together at delivery from multiple collection locations, the scanning of an Ad Hoc item will pop up an Additional Details screen, to allow this information to be entered through drop-down lists. Saving here will add the item to the list.

If no further details are required, the scanned item will be added to the list without asking for any more information.

Pressing or long-pressing on an item in this Ad Hoc list will allow you to remove an item from the delivery, through a confirmation pop-up.

==User Notes==

If enabled, User Notes can also be entered through another tab.

==Completion of a Delivery==

The delivery job will be complete once all planned products and containers have been collected. If Ad Hoc entry is not allowed, you will be immediately taken to the [[PDA Job Confirmation|Job Confirmation]] screen.

If there were no planned items, or Ad Hoc items are enabled, you will be required to press the {{PDAType|Android=Y|iOS=Y|Block='''Complete'''}} button on the ''Job Details'' tab to take to the [[PDA Job Confirmation|Job Confirmation]] screen. Note that if you have entered no Ad Hoc items, you will be asked to confirm this first.

* The tab may also display a '''Complete''' button, allowing the user to complete the job when all details are entered. This job only appears if:
** Ad Hoc items are enabled (see later)
** No items or products are required for collection at all.

The jobs required for collection can be varied and can consist of:
* Item (Container) only
* Loose Product Only
* Items with products within that should be counted
* A mix of all the above

==Containers and Products Collection==

From the ''Container/Items'' tab you can enter the Container in the text box and click '''Collect''', which will progress you to the ''Products'' tab with all products within the selected container will shown. These can then be counted like Loose Products below. You may use any device-connected scanner in this text box to the same effect.

You may also use the '''Scan''' button to start the camera scanning facility built into ''CALIDUS'' ePOD. This will allow you to use the camera to scan any barcodes. This can be singly, or scanning batches or barcodes at a time, depending on configuration. The result of scanning barcodes is the same as entering them through the text box.

You can (if allowed) select the item from the list and click either '''Non-Collection''' or '''Collected''':
* '''Collected''' will progress you to the ''Products'' tab with all products within the selected container will shown. These can then be counted like Loose Products below.

You are able to long-press any container in the grid. This will provide a pop-up menu, allowing you to see the either the details of the selected container, or a list of the contained products.
Choosing {{PDAType|Android=Y}} ''Info'', the PDA displays a screen showing:
* ID
* Package Code and Description
* Weight
* Code 1/2/3 (Multi-use fields)
The pop-up screen will also display the jobs the item is used on, if the item is consolidated across multiple jobs.

The pop-up menu also allows cancellation or collection, as described above.

==Products or Loose Products Collection==

From the ''Products'' tab, the PDA displays a grid of all the products in the container, or all the loose products. {{Note}} This option is only available if the container has products and the PDA is configured not to require you to confirm each product separately (i.e. Container-only Collection).

* Keying the product code in the provided text box and clicking ''Collect'''
* Scanning the product barcode in this text box
* Using the '''Scan''' button to use the Camera Scanning facility built into the application
* Selecting the product from the list (if allowed)

In any case, the device will prompt you to decide on your action through a pop-up list allowing you to:
* Change the quantity collected
* Collect the product in full
* Cancel the product
* See further details of a product can be viewed by long-pressing against a line of the grid and choosing ''Details''. The PDA will display:
** The Product Code
** The Description
** The Item Type
** Any Customer Reference associated to this product
** The planned quantity

==Ad Hoc Item Collection==
The Collection process can also be configured with an Ad Hoc Collection facility, which allows you to specify the items collected, at the point of collection, without those items being planned in advance.

The functionality provided by Containers without products means that in the scenario that there are no products/containers pre-defined, the Containers and Products tabs will be disabled on the PDA. If the Loose Product container is pre-defined, the Ad Hoc products will be placed onto this container.

When adding Ad Hoc items, the application will validate these items entered, and warn you if they have already been scanned, were preadvised, or that they have already been cancelled.

If DU/Asset type entry is required, or the jobs are consolidated together at collection for multiple delivery locations, the scanning of an Ad Hoc item will pop up an Additional Details screen, to allow this information to be entered through drop-down lists. Saving here will add the item to the list.

If no further details are required, the scanned item will be added to the list without asking for any more information.

Pressing or long-pressing on an item in this Ad Hoc list will allow you to remove an item from the collection, through a confirmation pop-up.

==Completion of a Collection==

This screen displays full details of the job being undertaken.

This screen will be displayed regardless of job type. The translated job type will be displayed on the top of the screen (i.e. COLLECTION, DELIVERY, SERVICE), along with the Job ID (or other descriptive text, as configured for the system). {{PDAType|Android=Y|iOS=Y}} The status of the job will also be displayed.

From these tabs, you can:
* Call the customer by clicking on the '''Call''' button, if a phone number has been provided. The device will display the dialler with the Phone number already entered.
* Navigate to the customer's address by clicking on the '''Navigate''' button. {{PDAType|Android=Y}} The device will use whatever navigation software is installed on the device, or route through a browser search. Navigation is only available after the Job is marked as In Progress, or if Job Arrival Times are not being entered.
* {{PDAType|Android=Y}} SMS message the customer. The device will display the SMS message, with the phone number and job details already entered for you.

If the jobs are consolidated, the '''<''' and '''>''' buttons can be used to move between the all the consolidated jobs, to see and specific details. The Instructions tab will show all instructions for all the jobs, as well as any additional information passed through for the job (for example, the total number of boxes and box types required, if there are any special packing materials needed, etc).

You can accept the job using the '''Start Job''' button.

If the system is configured to capture Job Arrival Times:
* The button will change to '''Arrive Job'''. This should be clicked on arrival to the customer site.

The user will be taken to the following process, based on job type:

This screen shows all the jobs on the Load (worklist) that has been assigned to you.

If the system has been configured for Metric Entry, and a Load is started for the first time on this device, the device will prompt for the Mileage for the start of the load. Mileage will also be prompted when the last job on the load is complete, requesting that this is entered only when you have returned to base.

==Retrieving New Loads==
If you have completed all jobs on a load, when you are returned to the job menu you will be prompted, asking if you would like to retrieve a new load. If you select '''Yes''', the PDA client will attempt to retrieve the next load available assigned to you. If it is retrieved successfully, the jobs will be displayed within the Job Menu. If this is unsuccessful, you will be advised, and will be given the option to retry. If you click '''No''' at either stage the application will shutdown.

==Retrieving Existing Loads==
In the scenario where the application is exited before completing a load (for example the battery runs out), the data of the load is still stored locally and not lost. This including any pending data that needs to be sent to the system from the PDA.

When the application is next loaded it will ask you if they would like retrieve or discard the current load. Retrieving the current load will return the locally stored load back to you. If you request to retrieve a new load, this will return the first available load on the system to you.

The frequency, type of questions, the text and entry type of the Vehicle Check process is completely user-definable through the EPOD Admin system. The configuration of the Vehicle Check process is sent to the EPOD Client when the user logs on.

When the user logs on, the unit will check the vehicle last check date to see if the interval (in days) between checks has been exceeded. If this is the case, the Vehicle Check will begin.

Each question configured will be displayed in sequence and the user will be prompted with response fields.

There are 4 types of answers allowed:

* Numeric - the user will be prompted to enter a number only as the response , for example, What is the current Mileage?
* Text - The user will be prompted to enter a text response.
* Boolean - The user is prompted to enter a yes or no response, for example, Does the Windscreen have any cracks.
* Option - The user will be prompted with a number of text boxes that must be checked. The options allowed can be cycled through by pressing on the button.

The answers you provide are validated by the device, to ensure that you have entered all required questions. If not, you will be prompted to complete the checks fully. You are allowed to skip any questions that are not marked as required.

Upon completion of the checks, the answers to the checks and the Vehicle, User and Site IDs are transferred back to the ''CALIDUS'' ePOD system, where they are stored and are available for searching and printing.

==Introduction==
The ''CALIDUS'' ePOD and eSERV Client application is a PDA-based application, that handles all of the operational functionality for the execution of delivery, collection and service calls.

The system runs on a variety of different Mobile Device operating systems and configurations, as follows:
* {{PDAType|Android=Y}} Android mobile devices, from version 2.1 upwards. All known devices are supported, with a feature list depending on device. Landscape and Portrait modes for all screen sizes are supported.
* {{PDAType|iOS=Y}} iOS mobile devices, such as the Apple iPhone and iPad. Devices from iOS versions 4.0 up to 6.0 are supported.
{{Note}} All device-specific operations are noted with these images within the document.

The PDA client allows users to connect and receive load data, consisting of a load and a series of associated jobs. It provides the functionality to process and complete these jobs electronically in the field. The PDA Client allows processing of Services, Collections and Deliveries. The PDA Client is reliant on a network connection either GPRS or Wi-Fi to retrieve load data, but is not reliant on a connection to complete them, as once jobs are complete, data will be stored on the device until the next time the device has a connection and the application is running. Static data (such as site information) will be stored locally – this is downloaded once during the login process, if a connection is present and the data requires updating.

The application will be pre-installed on the units, but can also be downloaded from stores or manually installed.

Once the application has been installed, it will be present on the application list of your device. Once clicked, the application will load.

The PDA Client screens utilize the touch screen mechanisms that are standard on the device types. On menus that require text or numerical entry the keyboard will be displayed when required or a button shown to display the keyboard. ==Introduction==
The ''CALIDUS'' ePOD and eSERV Client application is a PDA-based application, that handles all of the operational functionality for the execution of delivery, collection and service calls.

The system runs on a variety of different Mobile Device operating systems and configurations, as follows:
* {{PDAType|Android=Y}} Android mobile devices, from version 2.1 upwards. All known devices are supported, with a feature list depending on device. Landscape and Portrait modes for all screen sizes are supported.
* {{PDAType|iOS=Y}} iOS mobile devices, such as the Apple iPhone and iPad. Devices from iOS versions 4.0 up to 6.0 are supported.

The PDA client allows users to connect and receive load data, consisting of a load and a series of associated jobs. It provides the functionality to process and complete these jobs electronically in the field. The PDA Client allows processing of Services, Collections and Deliveries. The PDA Client is reliant on a network connection either GPRS or Wi-Fi to retrieve load data, but is not reliant on a connection to complete them, as once jobs are complete, data will be stored on the device until the next time the device has a connection and the application is running. Static data (such as site information) will be stored locally – this is downloaded once during the login process, if a connection is present and the data requires updating.

The application will be pre-installed on the units, but can also be downloaded from stores or manually installed.

Once the application has been installed, it will be present on the application list of your device. Once clicked, the application will load.

The PDA Client screens utilize the touch screen mechanisms that are standard on the device types. On menus that require text or numerical entry the keyboard will be displayed when required or a button shown to display the keyboard.
