Introduction

This document describes the contents of this Aptean POD – Calidus Edition device release.


Platforms/Databases

The release will be tested against & supported only for the following platform/database combinations:

  • Android O/S 4.4.x Kit Kat or higher on previously verified devices

This is a release of the Aptean POD – Calidus Edition device application.


Released Incidents / Changes

This release contains the following fixes/changes:

232821 - CUSTOM - Crosswater Scanning Method Changes

The application now captures scanning method when scanning products and returns the data to the server for analysis and reporting. This captures whether the product was selected from the screen (ACCEPT), scanned using the on-board camera scanner (SCAN), keyed in and confirmed on the device (KEY) or automatically confirmed by Collect/Deliver all functions or when all products within a container are successfully completed (AUTO).

Note: devices with an onboard scanner are defined by the application as KEY methods in this release.

Details of any system setup required by either Aptean or Client.

Client Installation The APK needs to be updated/installed on devices

Note: A server application release is required to successfully store the captured entry methods. However, this version of the mobile application does not require this to be released – the application is backward-compatible and may be released before the server modifications. The server Product Scanning Report will not work without this version of the mobile application being rolled out to devices.

User Instructions

User details and instructions of the new or changed process

Topic Action Description
Usage None The application is used in exactly the same way as before with no changes to the user interface – the capture of entry method is seamless in the background of the device.
Installation Initial Login As the application’s internal database is updated by this release, the application will re-initialise on first start-up after installing this version. This requires the user to log in initially before selecting the vehicle. The application will walk the user through the process.

Note: It is recommended that any jobs in progress on the device are complete before this version is installed on the mobile device. No data will be lost, but jobs in progress may require items re-scanning if this is installed mid-way through processing a job. In progress loads will not be affected.


Performance Notes

It is not thought that this change will have any impact on performance although it is our recommendation that the performance of all areas of the application is validated during testing to ensure that performance is still good.

Android mobile device application release 4.5.0.0 must be active prior to this release.
