CN Warehouse Extract Search Parameters

FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATION - 10.6

- 1.0

Reference: FS 286397 KM-8EDGXF

Client Requirement

The requirement is to change the ‘CN Warehouse Extract’ search parameters. Currently the parameters are ‘Group Name’, ‘Owning Depot’, ‘From Location’. In the ‘From Location’ field only one entry is accepted. The requirement is to be able to attach multiple locations without having to run separate reports. The actual extract still needs to sort as at present: ‘Trip Number’ and stop order. The ‘From Location’ will merge as per the criteria.

Solution

Currently within C-TMS the ‘Reports’ parameter screen includes the option for certain fields to select multiple parameter options for the report, e.g. The ‘CN Loading Schedule Report’ and parameter fields ‘Depot’ and ‘Customer’. The user can hit a button to display a sub-screen which will allow them to select multiple depot or customer codes that are passed as parameters to the appropriate report.

This functionality will be replicated in the ‘Exports’ screen available from the ‘File Interfaces’ menu. This will allow the user to define the list of locations that will be used as the ‘From Location’ parameter in the ‘CN Warehouse Extract’ data selection. The single run of the extract will select data for multiple locations rather than having to be run individually for each location.

This will require amendment to the ‘EXPORTS’ form and the database package ‘CSV.sql’ which executes the query to produce the extract file.

The field definition for the ‘From Location’ on the extract will need to be amended to enable the ‘Multiple Selection’ option to be activated.

Scope

This change will be applied to system version 10.6.0

Data

Flag ‘REP_REPORT_PARAM.REPORT_LIST‘ will need to be set to ‘Y’ for the parameter ‘From Location’ for report ‘CN Warehouse Extract’ to enable the multiple selection of parameters.

Functional Description

‘Exports’ Screen (EXPORTS)

The ‘Exports’ screen will be changed to enable multiple values to be entered for the same parameter.

The functionality present in the ‘Reports’ screen will be introduced to the ‘Exports’ screen for this purpose.

Certain parameters will have a new button placed to the right which when pressed will call the new ‘Select Multiple Parameters’ screen in the ‘EXPORTS’ form.

For the ‘CN Warehouse Extract’ the button for the multiple parameters will be present for the ‘From Location’ for the parameter called ‘PG_LOV2’; a column called ‘REPORT_LIST’ on the ‘REP_REPORT_PARAM’ table will be set to ‘Y’ to activate the display of the button for the parameter.

The existing layout of the ‘Select Multi Parameters’ screen in the ‘REPORTS’ will be retained for the new ‘Select Multiple Parameters’ screen in the ‘EXPORTS’ form, for example:

A list of values for the ‘From Location’ will be available, as per the parameter in the existing field, in the new ‘Select Multiple Parameters’ screen via the button for the ‘Select’ field because the same type of parameter will be used in both windows:

The user will have the ability to add and remove parameters in the list for the multiple selections via the ‘ADD’ and ‘REMOVE’ buttons.

The functionality will be consistent with the development performed for RIO 259410 PA-7MKDYG (CN Loading Schedule Report Changes) to create the multiple parameters in the ‘Reports’ screen.

‘CSV’ Package

The ‘CSV’ package will be changed to enable any multiple selection parameters entered in the ‘Exports’ screen to be used to select the data to be included in ‘CN Warehouse Extract’.

The multiple selection parameters are stored temporarily on the ‘REP_PARAM_LIST’ table for the unique combination of username, session number, report name, report parameter and sequence number; and they may be assessed in procedure ‘WRITE_WAREHOUSE_EXTRACT’ for the extract.

If the parameter set for the extract is ‘MULTIPLE’ then the multiple selection parameters will be obtained and used in preference to the parameter passed for the query of the data for the up-to-date list for the username, report name and report parameter.

The layout and sortation of the extract will not be changed.
