Functional Overview

Client Requirement

Change Request Summary:

Include the del point reference data so Paragon is aware of vehicle type required for order and whether 1 or 2 man Paul McGoran/Manchester/UK/NFC

Change Request Details:

Include the service/delivery type. With this information and with the booking ref order prefix, the current icon and colour coding of the sites in current Paragon configuration can be maintained. Consultation on message format and implementation support. Provide Paragon with sufficient information in the Paragon export file to support planning & manual plan review with "iconography"

Benefits identified as a result of the change:

Existing Paragon planning mechanism is maintained

Solution

In order to allow Paragon visibility of the British Gas Waste’s order reference and the requirement for two resources for a given collection the extract of orders to paragon will be amended to include two new data fields. The inclusion of the two new data fields will be controlled by the cost centre parameter PARAGON_INSTALLED. If the parameter is set to ‘BGW’, the two fields will be selected and sent as part of the extract.

The new fields being mapped are as follows:

C-TMS Field Name Paragon Field Name
2MAN_FLAG CALL.TEXT17
BOOKING_REF CALL.TEXT18
CUSTOMER_ACCOUNT CALL.TEXT19
ROUTE_NUMBER CALL.USER17
TRIP_NUMBER CALL.USER18
VEHICLE_TYPE CALL.TEXT20

The Delivery Point Reference (DEL_POINT_REF) field from the Order Header Table (SCH_ORD) will be manipulated to return a value of Y or N to be passed as the 2_MAN_FLAG

The Booking Reference field (BOOKING_REF) will also be selected directly from the Order Header table (SCH_ORD) and sent as part of the extract.

Scope

This change will be applied to system 10.7.0.

Set-up

Pre-requisites

COST_CENTRE parameter PARAGON_INSTALLED has been set to the British Gas Waste configured Cost Centre centre e.g. ‘BGWCC’.

Implementation Advice

A new COST CENTRE parameter will be created called PARAGON_INSTALLED, the cost centre value should be set to BGW by a system super user in the system parameters screen as displayed below:

291113 1.png

This will be added as part of RIO: 291113 AR-8KLNAN Include del point reference data

Functional Description

There will be 6 new fields extracted and sent as part of the paragon export. In addition to the new fields, current data sent will be amended based on specific British Gas Waste requirements.

The cost centre parameter PARAGON_INSTALLED will be used to control when the new British Gas Waste functionality is run.

New Paragon Export Fields

The six new fields are detailed below, listing the name of the field and the format type for paragon.

C-TMS Field Name Paragon Field Name
2MAN_FLAG CALL.TEXT17
BOOKING_REF CALL.TEXT18
CUSTOMER_ACCOUNT CALL.TEXT19
ROUTE_NUMBER CALL.USER17
TRIP_NUMBER CALL.USER18
VEHICLE_TYPE CALL.TEXT20

2MAN_FLAG will be derived from the data in the DEL_POINT_REF field of the order table. Where this field starts with the value 2M, 2MAN_FLAG will be set to ‘Y’, for all other cases the 2MAN_FLAG will be set to ‘N’.

BOOKING_REF will be a direct select from the Booking Reference (BOOKING_REF) field of the order header table (SCH_ORD).

CUSTOMER_ACCOUNT will be a spare field where C-TMS will pass an empty field to Paragon.

ROUTE_NUMBER, TRIP_NUMBER and VEHICLE_TYPE, will only be populated for ‘Scheduled for Collection’ (‘SCHED_COLL’) orders. SCHED_COLL orders will be orders which have been collected on a Saturday but due to opening time constraints at waste sites, were not unloaded at a waste site/recycling centre. Instead they were taken back to the depot and left on the vehicle for the remainder of the weekend. The status reflects that the order has been scheduled for collection but the delivery to an end destination has not yet been scheduled.

As described in Section3.6 of 291113 AR-8KLNAN Include del point reference data, For SCHED_COLL orders, C-TMS will receive a trip number and route number from Paragon for the trip being created these will be concatenated together to allow C-TMS to plan shuttle runs where the driver may visit a given waste site more than once on a particular trip..

This concatenated data will need to be split back into Paragon’s TRIP_NUMBER and ROUTE_NUMBER from the C-TMS Route Code field (ROUTE_CODE).

C-TMS’s Trailer Type (TRAILER_TYPE) will be passed to Paragon as Vehicle Type (VEHICLE_TYPE).

Amendments to Existing Paragon Fields

The data in the following fields sent to Paragon will be amended specifically for British Gas Waste. The functionality will be controlled by the PARAGON_INSTALLED system parameter.

C-TMS Field Name Paragon Field Name
LOCATION_ID CUST.ID
DELIVERY_UNIT_TYPE CALL.TEXT12
QUANTITY CALL.USER12

The LOCATION_ID will be set to the Current Location of the Order (CURRENT_DEPOT) for SCHED_COLL orders. For UNSCHEDULED orders, the LOCATION_ID will be set to the Orders ‘Collect From’ location (FROM_LOC).

DELIVERY_UNIT_TYPE for CALL.TEXT12 will be fixed text ‘WASTE’ for all British Gas Waste orders.

The QUANTITY for CALL.USER12 will be set to a total of the quantities on the order.

The following fields will all be set to blank prior to passing to Paragon

C-TMS Field Name Paragon Field Name
DEPOT_ID CALL.DEPOT_ID
DELIVERY_UNIT_TYPE CALL.TEXT13
QUANTITY CALL.USER13
DELIVERY_UNIT_TYPE CALL.TEXT14
QUANTITY CALL.USER14
DELIVERY_UNIT_TYPE CALL.TEXT15
QUANTITY CALL.USER15
DELIVERY_UNIT_TYPE CALL.TEXT16
QUANTITY CALL.USER16
