FUNCTIONAL OVERVIEW
Client Requirement
Business requirement to enable a simple Trip Find facility inside CTMS. Currently a user has to know the Trip Schedule Date and the Trip Number before they can access a trips detail for Planning and Trip Debrief. CTMS users spend time attempting to find the correct Trip Schedule date so they can then do some form of operational activity on a specific Trip. This document describes the requirements to allow inside C-TMS, a simple Trip Find menu function.
Solution
A new form will be developed as a menu option in C-TMS.
This form will allow a simple lookup on trip number (or partial trip number) and the query will then return the schedule date.
Scope
This change will be applied to system version 10.7.0.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION=
Orion Menu
The new ‘Trip Find’ screen will be added to the ‘Trip Management’ menu after the ‘Create Trips’ screen:
Trip Find Screen
A new screen called ‘Trip Find’ will be developed in a new form called ‘TRIP_FIND’ that will enable the users to obtain relevant trip information without prior knowledge of the trip schedule.
The ‘Trip Find’ screen will display the following layout:
The entry of a full or partial trip in the ‘Trip’ field will query automatically the database and return the following information from the database tables:
N.B. A full or partial trip ID may be used in the query.
If more than one trip is found for the partial trip search, records will be displayed in the cluster on screen with a vertical scrollbar to the right of the cluster to display all records selected.
The records will be in ascending sequence of trip ID (i.e. lowest to highest trip ID).
If a trip is not found then the user will be informed ‘No trip was found’ and no records will be displayed in the cluster on screen.
The ‘Start Location’ will be obtained from the first stop number and the ‘End Location’ from the last stop number on the trip.
The ‘Planning Group’ will be obtained from a transport order on the trip and it will be assumed that the same group name will be present for all of the orders on the trip.
Access Control
The new ‘Trip Find’ screen will be made available for the relevant user group in the ‘Menus’ tab page of the ‘Access Groups’ screen:
