Functional Overview

Client Requirement

SCR-339876-03: General Mobile Device Styling

Solution Overview

The EPOD system will be modified to have 2 new styles created for Marshalls:

  • A "Marshalls Landscape" style
  • A "Marshalls Premier Mortars" style

The 2 styles will be broadly similar, in that they will share many common styling elements. In detail, that is:

  • Both styles based on the exiting standard OBS style, in landscape orientation.
  • Job List, including displaying the planned time (not date and time).
  • Remove Signatory when customer signing - this must be entered by the driver.
  • Product List styling will be applied
  • Remove "Collection/Delivery Checked" box from the Collection/Delivery screens
  • Add a WEBFLEET button to the Load Info screen

Specifically and only for the "Marshalls Landscape" style, the following will apply:

  • Start Job button labelled as Deliver Job
  • Remove Cancel Job button from Job Details

The product list styling will differ slightly in the two styles.

For "Marshalls Premier Mortars", the following will be displayed on the Product list:

  • Product Code
  • Product Description
  • Quantity
  • Hopper

For "Marshalls Landscape":

  • Product Code
  • Quantity
  • Unit Type (e.g. m2, m3, ton)
  • Pack Size
  • Product Description

Note Note: The quantity displayed for "Marshalls Landscape" may be in Packs/Loose Items format, if the pack size is configured for the product. This is subject to an additional product change to achieve this and is not part of this specification.

Scope

This change will be applied to system version 3.X.

The information displayed on these mobile device screens is subject to the data mapping for the Marshalls project. This data is being received from different sources for Marshalls (Microsoft AX ERP for "Marshalls Premier Mortars", REACH TMS for "Marshalls Landscape"), and also changes being made to the data import for both of these business units (specified elsewhere). If these changes are not completed, the mobile device will still function but may not display the required information.

Menu Structure

Data

Each business unit will have a site created for it, expected to be:

  • "MAR-LAND" - for "Marshalls Landscape"
  • "MAR-PREM" - for "Marshalls Premier Mortars"

Two new PDA Styles will be created:

  • "MAR-LAND", labelled as "Marshalls Landscape".
  • "MAR-PREM", labelled as "Marshalls Premier Mortars".

The C-ePOD site will be linked to the appropriate PDA Style through the Admin Sites Maintenance screen.

Each C-ePOD site will have the appropriate Marshalls logo uploaded to it, and will be configured to show the Customer's reference on the device.

For "Marshalls Landscape", no Job-level reasons will be configured, so that no cancelling of jobs can be made by the drivers.

Functional Description

Job List Changes

The Load information (on the right of the screen when the device is oriented in landscape mode, and available through an Information button press when in portrait orientation) will be modified as part of the style changes to add a WEBFLEET toggle button, if WEBFLEET is enabled for the site and this is a TomTom PRO device. This will allow the user to switch to WEBFLEET, by activating the WEBFLEET NavApp only - no extra information will be sent. The purpose of this is to ease the transition between C-ePOD and WEBFLEET for the drivers.

The code for the WEBFLEET button should be taken as-is from the Navigation button. Note however that, when this is not a TomTom PRO device on a system with WEBFLEET enabled, no button will appear.

A system style control flag will be added to the Job List, to allow the Planned Date/Time field (currently already on the job list) to only display the time, not the date.

A new system text item "Deliver Job" will be added to the translations for "Marshalls Landscape".

Marshalls Premier Mortars Style Changes

A style will be created using the style creator, called "MAR-PREM" with description "Marshalls Premier Mortars".

The basic layout and colour scheme will be taken from the existing OBS2 style.

The Login screen will display as follows:

  • The logo will be displayed from the Site logo uploaded within the CALIDUS ePOD Admin system.

The Job List will display only the following data per job:

  • Job ID, configured to be the Customer's Reference
  • Type (Collection or Delivery)
  • Customer Name
  • Planned Time only
  • Post Code

The Collection/Delivery Address screen will display as follows

  • The "Collection/Delivery Checked" box will be removed

The following translations will be added, to ensure that the labels on the device are correct:

  • The label "Position" will be translated to "Hopper".

The Product List will show only the following data per item:

  • Product Code (EPL_PRODUCT_CODE)
  • Hopper (EPL_POSITION)
  • Quantity (EPL_PRODUCT_QTY_PLANNED)
  • Product Description (EPL_DESCRIPTION)

All other items on all screens will display as per the default system style.

Note Note: The style has been prototyped and can be seen in the development system.

Marshalls Landscape Style Changes

The "Marshalls Landscape" style will be created as a copy of the "Marshalls Premier Mortars" style above, called "MAR-LAND" with description "Marshalls Landscape".

The additional differences will be as follows:

The Job Details screen will have the Cancel Job button removed.

The following translations will be added, to ensure that the labels on the device are correct:

  • The message "Start Job" will be translated to "Deliver Job".

The Product List will show only the following data per item:

  • The Product Code (EPL_PRODUCT_CODE)
  • Unit Type (EPL_UNIT_TYPE)
  • Pack Size (EPL_ITEM_TYPE)
  • The Planned Quantity (EPL_PRODUCT_QTY_PLANNED)
  • The Description (EPL_DESCRIPTION)

Note Note: The style has been prototyped and can be seen in the development system. This style does not include the Position field on the Product List (as this is being developed as part of other changes) and should be modified for this purpose.
